Prepare and plan ahead

Before installing your new Mineral Core Boards, remove the planks or tiles from their packaging and let them sit in the installation area for at least a day. This acclimation period helps the flooring adjust to the room’s temperature, preventing some light shrinkage or swelling, which may affect how the floors should be laid.

If you plan to install Mineral Core Boards over existing floors, the surface must have a certain level of evenness, which you will find detailed in the instruction notice.

For the best finish and to make installation easier, we recommend removing skirting boards so that expansion gaps next to the wall can be well hidden.

A key benefit of this modular GenClick® system is that you don’t need to move all the furniture out; you can simply reposition your furniture around the room as you go, allowing for a step-by-step installation process.

Just make sure to read the installation instructions carefully and your journey will follow the path of beauty in every detail.

What direction should I lay my Mineral Core Board flooring?

For the best results, install Mineral Core Boards just like real wood and stone flooring. For a square room, position the planks and tiles towards the main source of light, such as the largest window. However, in a particularly rectangular room, we recommend laying the wood planks and stone tile floors parallel to the longer wall. For instance, if you're planning to install the flooring in a corridor, we recommend laying the floor along its length.

STELLAR floors need no additional underlay

All our floors have acoustic foam backing, so no extra underlay is needed. This backing reduces noise levels and sound transmission between floors, absorbing 19 dB of impact noise to help build quieter spaces. It also adds cushioning and locks in heat, creating a softer and warmer feeling underfoot.

How do I install Mineral Core Boards using the GenClick® system?

Installing your Mineral Core Board floors is quick and easy, thanks to our GenClick® system. With a push-down click floating installation method, you can lay the planks or tiles directly over existing floors without glue.*

For an easy and quick floor installation, start by placing spacers around the perimeter for proper distance from walls and other fixed installations; this gives the floor room for movement. Click together the first row of planks or tiles at the short end, then continue clicking together entire rows along the long side.

A key benefit of this modular GenClick® system is that you don’t need to move all the furniture out; you can simply reposition your furniture around the room as you go, allowing for a step-by-step installation process.

*Please note that installing STELLAR floors over carpet or flexible plastic coverings that have textile or foam backing, such as old vinyl floors, is not recommended.
